think ''signing'' for a new ground is still years away. Leave some in your will for things to go forward!! ;D

Also there was talk of building a new ground off the Haine Road/Newington area, not sure I want to see a sterile no atmosphere place to watch football.

I think you'll find WE wanted to merge with them! :o
Wasnt there talk in the 80s/90s to be one team,to play at the site of the old Greyhound track? :-\
Also this from 2016. Read the last couple of lines :o
Whatever happened about the "new ground" as well!? ::)

Has there been any discussions with Ramsgate or any other club about a ground share or merger this season?

TP: We can put this one to bed right away. We are not thinking of merging with anyone else. We’re Margate Football Club and that’s what it’s going to be.

There are rumours going around that Thanet Council won’t give you a lease on this place until something is done with Southwood in Ramsgate? Can we clarify if this is the case? And if not, why is it taking so long?

CC: I have personally been negogiating with them for a year and during that year, I’ve dealt with four different officers who have all left and it’s been a case of starting the process all over again. That’s one reason.

They did offer a lease in 2014, which Bob Laslett didn’t sign and thank god he didn’t to some extent. There is the opportunity of that lease being offered again but we didn’t want that, we wanted something better to help us with future investment.

That is the process we’re going through at the moment and as I said earlier, over the next few weeks…wait and see.

Who would want to merge with MFC.   Good info Bill.

you refering to this from John??:

Bad news Alfie leaving; I did hear sometime ago that the fee was £5,000.  I bet defenders in Bostic South will be happy Alfie's left.  Do F/stone have any decent defenders R/gate can have?

That's indicating gossip!! Small fee  - £5000!! Be more like £50. Stop living in a dream. I'll try and get info tomorrow (if it's legal!! ;))

£50!? :o >:(
I reckon you could be right Bill. Folkestone could have applied the "Bosman Ruling"and got the Pax for nowt if they had wanted to! :(
Fifty quid could be just a token offer, for all we know! :-\

Not looked at the season ticket prices; it took months to get mine a couple of seasons ago, I ended up going into the directors lounge to ask ???

think that ''cup'' game has changed the last year or so to just one game - one year away, next home?

So do RFC get a share of the gate then?

List of friendlies up on the RFC website.
If that Bromley one had been a Saturday,I reckon we could have got a good crowd for that :(
Looks like the WW Martin cup game will be at Portakabin Park. I hope those nettles haven't grown too much over the summer! ;D

The WW Martin cup has always been home & away; has this now changed.  Plus of course why should MFC charge a few pounds more to get stung with nettles ::)

According to Folkestones' website, we've got them in a friendly,at home, on the 21st July.

Part of the Alfie deal? Wonder if he will be allowed to play? :(

That's good.

We may have to play that Whitstable team that didn't have any goals or nets last year ;D

If you mean "Whitstable Bay  FC", I think they've folded! I had a look at their FB Page and saw some comments on there that were quite uncomplimentary!  "Run by a conman" being one of them and "Owing money to lots of people" being another ! :o

They could have been a suitable nursery team for MFC then 8)
